Just FYI, If you buy a car in a state that does NOT require a broker, you don't need to go through a broker to buy the car. For example, If you live in Tennessee (where you need a broker) and you are looking to buy a car in Iowa (which does NOT require a broker), you can bid on the car directly through copart and save some money. If you were bidding on a car in Tennessee, then it doesn't matter which state you're from, you'd need a broker.

I might missed something but I was waiting for info, which disclose some steps after winning the lot. What happens next? How do you get the title and how do you register the car? And what time does it take in overall to get the car to your ownership. Sincerely

Love this video! Been doing this myself for a good bit. Everyone clickbait’s you into oh I got this for 900$ ect. But it’s bs. Whatever your winning bid is double it and keep that in mind as well when hitting the bid button! The fees are no joke. Then transport ect. A lot involved. Well explained with factual information! Not the fairy tale these others make it seem like! Keep up the good real content!

This video was very informative, sir. Thank you for taking the time to put it together. I'm a competent weekend warrior mechanic who wants to buy a salvage title motorcycle in my home state of FL. Now I have a better understanding of what I'm getting myself into.

Unless you buy something dirt cheap you could find somewhere else, the fees aren't too bad.
@16:40 The virtual bid fee is a ripoff. Their server and staff costs don't rise with the price of the vehicle.

I've bought about 10 cars through them, mostly to flip. I only left $500 in my account so I could buy up to $5000 worth of cars. But I did buy a 2003 Grand Prix for $200 that needed some work. I put $600 into it in 2013. I drove it for a while, my wife drove it for a while, then gave it to my daughter when I moved to Phoenix . My daughter still drives it.

Their fees are excessive but so are the fees at most auctions I've been to. The only way to get around the fees is city or county auctions, but they mostly contract auctions out now so you're back paying fees. You can make it work, but you have to figure the fees in your bids. I haven't had to use a broker, especially in AZ. You can buy anything without a dealers license.

Great video!
Did you have to follow the broker / no broker rule in the state you purchased or in the state you live? Their help page says, "Without business licenses, private individuals buying in <state name here>." That seems to say it's where are purchasing it, not where you live. If I understood your video it sounded like you went by the TN rules (where you live) vs the AL rule (where you purchased it). In your case, TN and AL are the same. I live in MO but the nearest Copart is right over the border in KS and they are completely opposite of each other. MO clean title - no broker, salvage - broker. KC clean title - broker, salvage - no broker.
Thanks again, I'll be subscribing.

Good job on explaining how it works. Im in a dif state and chose auto bidder, I bought a SXS 2 months ago and the deal went just like ur toyota truck deal. went to the bank wire transferred the $$ just like they said to do then 2 days later went to the local CoPart yd where they loaded it onto my trailer and shazammm. Always kno about the fees above what u paid for the vehicle. Theres a certain amount of luck or trust when bidding on a item that you cant view in person prior. Mine worked out sweeet. again good job on ur presentation. thx

Great video! Question for you. Did you do transportation through Copart or Salvage Retailer?
