Sticks out a fair way though.  I got some 3M Dual Lock (velcro on steroids) and stuck that on my helmet and case.  Works a treat for < $5

This is helpfull but what did you do to mount your piece to the helmet? Did you use the adhesive sticker or velcro?

Your second mounting configuration seems to have a base plate between the ball-head mount and the yellow buckle. Did the base plate that connects the mount to the buckle come with the ball-head mount (ADP-BH1)? Did the buckle come with the ball-head mount?

How long till the adhesive is reasonably set for use? Mine came off on the freeway after like 18hrs of sticking over night
