Kinda just left it on top and laid that gimick on top.. cool idea but you should have delayed the time between loading the gimick and the stab

I see what you did there. Nice misdirection. Perhaps try and make the “cut” a little more visible though so it looks like a cut not a palm. Took me a minute to see it though lol nicely done

I'd say what he pokes with the knife is a stack of cards glued together(or a prop that looks just like a thin stack of cards). He had the "prop" hidden in his right palm when the person put the card back seamingly on top of the deck, then he puts the prop on top of it. He then pokes the prop with the knife, revealing the card he wants

Bad explanation but either way, that's my guess. Very cool looking result anyway
