Great sermon. He approaches a timely question: am I saved? with a novel approach by analyzing an historical character who gives statements that are ambiguous to the truly sanctified life. This compels each of us to examine our lives to ask if we are ambiguous in our spiritual walk.

Thank you Pastor Matt, as a struggling Baptist (the Reformation was one of my favorite subjects in history; been looking at the mainlines that came from the split and the two that keep jumping at me is Lutheranism and Presbyterianism) your videos these last few weeks have been informative and insightful. Nebuchadnezzar in my humble non-pastor view comes across as many I've seen around me say wishy washy; he professes his faith and yet we don't see the fruits of his labor, pride comes before the fall.

A couple of questions or thoughts I have.

1: in what context did Jesus speak of the glory or splendor of Solomon? Is it possible that he was merely speaking of his restoration?

2: can a hypocrite come to repentance?

3: is it possible that Nebuchadnezzar did repent in chapter 2 and when he was humbled as a beast of the field it was Gods discipline as in Hebrews 12?

4. I would contend that as Nebuchadnezzar speak of how God can and does humble the proud, it is through personal experience.

1 Corinthians 4:3–5 (ESV): But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.  For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.
