i have an underbite and am getting a braces consultation tomorrow.
not only will i need braces (with rubber bands i think. and maybe a retainer. i'll find out tomorrow) but i will also need head gear. I think i only need to wear the head gear at night though, THANK GOD. I would NEVER show my face again at school if i had to wear it during the day lol.

I put my teeth on top of eachother so my underbite isnt noticeable LOL

So glad I wont need surgery for my underbite only braces for between 22 and 24 months. I've always hated it and I cannot wait to see the end results. Not only that but my dentist told me this will help in keeping my teeth, and gums, clean and healthy. Got my top braces last month and will be getting my bottom ones on Thursday. I might need bite blocks for a while but I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end.

It su cks bcuz I'm just 15 and my dentist told me I have to wait till my bones have fully grown on to which they would finally do an underbite jaw surgery when I'm about 18... Problem is proms next yr. And its won't be fixed till 18...:-(

it though about it for a few days and i totally against the under-bite jaw surgery...there's not such thing as dramatic under-bite...any under-bite can be treated enough for a person not to suffer health problems with a pair of cool braces...

I am a underbiter and a cross biter my under bite is 1cm away from my top teeth and my top teeth is crowded... my bottom jaw is bigger than my upper jaw 🥺 but I’m atleast happy that my bottom teeth is not crowded and it’s alright this Saturday I will be going to might get braces and I’m scared that they won’t treat me because my mouths surrounding is complicated but I’m also happy that I don’t have plague etc
