First time a PRO TEAM plays Harbor on Icebox

First time a PRO TEAM plays Harbor on Icebox and of course it had to be Paper Rex. PRX Mindfreak is on the Harbor, and then we have PRX F0rsakeN on Kay/o, PRX Jinggg on the Jett, PRX D4V41 on the Chamber, Benkai on the Sova. They are playing against another great pro team Team Secret.
This is BEFORE the newest patch so Harbor will be even stronger next time Paper Rex plays him

Damn, this is actually a very good analysis.
So the harbor has potential on the attacker side but we see the weakness of this agent on the defender side and it is very difficult to delay when the enemy attacks the site or it is easy to fake the enemy to use this harbor skill.

tbh Paper Rex is suitable for using any agent for their strategy, their META always makes us want to watch and be entertained.

Harbor may still have some weaknesses, but the cool thing about having Harbor introduced on Icebox in particular is he has now made the entirety of mid a point of concern. Icebox mid is usually just a meat grinder for attackers in particular because of all the angles defenders can hold, and when you use Viper, you typically just want to save your poison orb for someplace else. With Harbor's second cascade + rechargeable wall, creating lots of confusion and pressure down mid with his bursty playstyle now makes mid/tube a genuinely viable avenue of attack that it simply wasn't before. Will be exciting to see Harbor potentially being an additional smoker in more pro play.

You can actually get the cascade so that it travels through mid,
lets you get into tube without them having vision and if positioned correctly can end up blocking the default trip location letting you lurk past it as well

Harbour has huge potential. Harbor has omen's flexibility with vipers utility. Teams just need someone to show them how to play him

I saw a team that substituted sage for harbor in icebox, which created a lot of pressure cause harbor creates the actual threat of a mid hit plus the viper orb, allows the team to have more flexiblity on their takes and still has the protection for the plant, even if weaker than a sage,

Recently played Harbor. While he may not be viable as a solo controller, Harbor is arguably the best controller for mid hits since all his util are smokes. His flexibility on denying angles is crucial for creating mid pressure, is very favorable on midround-heavy setups and is only matched by Omen (the only leg-up Omen has is the blind tbh).

idk but did anyone try the harbour full circle wall? honestly quite different from viper but the curves really allow for interesting off angle splits of the maps

Thanks for the analysis gares. However, I feel like PRX vs Heretics final in the same event showed harbor's weakness. Mindfreak struggled in both maps they played harbor. I feel like in defense, harbor was used more as sage, but only if that agent was present on the site to help defenders. Heretics abused this fact on fracture even though the rotations on the CT side are much faster on that map.

IMO we need more a little tweak for Harbor so he can replace viper as site anchor and play agressively since he's a controller/initiator

it is viable as solo controller but of course like paper rex the aggressive play suit which many people wont pick it cause it is not many player style to aggressively play

I think with PRX playstyle, since they usually agress during defense, Harbor is suitable for that playstyle. Tho i do think having harbor and another controller together would be better.

Losing vision when going into the cove was actually a bug and it has been patched
