I used to use a 10mm blade. Has a thick (8mm) Balsa inner core, and a layer of texalium (fiber glass aluminum), and limba outer veneer. It's one of the fastest rackets ever made.

hi.. you can try when cutting the rubber, use balsa wood as base, or polyfoam 5mm, or even a corrugated card board can do the trick. use a sharp cutter (x-acto kinda blade). i tried using cutting mat but not as good as using polyfoam board.

If you want to try to salvage a warped blade or plywood blank microwave it for 30-45 seconds. Use some gloves to try and bend it back to being flat. This works with wood glue not epoxy

Hi mr jody. i still not clear what the caused of wood become curved and how to avoid it (because of my english not good). Are that caused by wood glue, attached veneer in same direction? or something else? i plan to make paddle 7 ply wood with balsa wood 3 mm as core and 6 ply veneer 0.5 mm. please advise and respon my question.thanks
