His mother is an opera singer, and she went to practice and took Dimash with her. One of the vocal coaches took 4-year-old into a practice room so his mom could focus on her part. The teacher played some piano notes and asked him to sing. She came out afterwards and told his mom, "Your son has perfect pitch." At five, he was the youngest child ever admitted to their music school.

The song OlImpico (which became known as Ogni Pietra) was composed by maestro Igor Krutoy, with Italian lyrics by Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova and arrangements by Erlan Bekchurin. It was composed specifically for Dimash for the 2019 European Games. With this song Dimash won, on December 5, 2019, the Victoria award (Russian equivalent of the Grammy) for best singer of the year, in the classical genre ("Best Vocalist in Classical Music").

DIMASH live concerts are something amazing to see. they experience will be a lifetime memory. To see DIMASH get even more involved in his performance feeding of the audience and the audience gathering emotion from his performance is just undiscribable; people often walk around after the concert seemingly lost in disbelief of what they have just seen. How DIMASH goes several hours in his concerts is beyond me.

Dimash comes from a very musical family - his parents are both well-known singers in Kazakhstan, his grandfather taught him to play the dombra (like a lute) before he started school, his younger brother is also studying music, and his younger sister has a lovely singing voice - although she’s chosen medicine for a career. His grandmother took him to music school from the age of five, too ….

Dimash's concerts are usually three hours long. And this was just one out of many songs he performed that night (the whole concert is on youtube by the way). So, being there must have been a really intense experience.
(The fact that this video is credited to Dimash Kudaibergen & Igor Krutoy is a bit misleading since Igor doesn't perform on stage in this, but what he did is he composed the song, if I remember correctly).
