Dr Arvind Shenoy is an MSc (Organic Chemistry) and PhD in Biochemistry from UDCT Mumbai. He has 42 years of experience in the analysis, R&D and marketing of foods, organic and inorganic chemicals, plastics, rubber, paper, textiles, waxes, leather, pharmaceuticals, etc. He is the only person from India to have been trained in Belgium, the Netherlands and England in comparative product testing in 1988 by the IOCU, now known as Consumers International. Dr Shenoy is associated with the Consumer Guidance Society of India, the first consumer organization in India, since 1971 and has been involved both in comparative product testing and consumer education.

He has done comprehensive work with special reference to quality assessment of milk available in Maharashtra and has tested hundreds of samples with respect to aflatoxin, antibiotics, pesticide residues, somatic cell count, coliform count, sodium carbonate/bicarbonate, starch, urea and non-fatty matter in the milk. He has developed testing kit for the lay man to analyze and detect the added adulterants in milk. Dr Shenoy is a member of the Advertising Standards Council of India, the Consumer Complaints Committee, Consumer Guidance Society of India, the Association for Consumers Action on Safety and Health and has been a member of various organisations in the past.
