Hello, the SY 1000 is great!!!
I followed the 5 videos, great !!!
I managed to put the control on my computer and it's good!
How do I open external effects connected to the SEND/RETURN jacks? I plugged in effects but nothing happens??

I work in the IT industry. Microsoft is pushing companies like BOSS to not include their drivers are part of the software bundle. This is due to an issue with companies not notifying customers when new drivers come out for their hardware. By BOSS providing the driver to Microsoft, anytime a new driver comes out, it will be downloaded and installed by Windows Update. The same is most likely true for Apple systems.

What OS are you using on your Mac? For the BTS for SY is super sluggish and very buggy. I’m using it on High Sierra and Mohave. Thanks!

If Boss made their devices USB class compliant, you wouldn't need a driver and they would even work under *gasp* Linux.

I’ve been playing it for a few weeks now. I have to say, while I do like the flat UI design, and I’m glad they didn’t go skeuomorphic, they could have done some line art icons to help instantly see what type of setting are changing. My biggest gripe is how stupidly slow the pc editor is. If I just use the hardware to switch patches it is instant. If I change to a different patch on the PC editor it takes a good 5 to 10 seconds to fully load. You can hear different settings turning on and off during this time. I have no clue why it is doing anything different than the hardware to make that patch change work any differently. It’s not just patch changes, the PC UI is buggy and slow for normal editing features too. So much so that I nearly sent it back. I had to seriously debate if the features outweighed to bad PC UX. At the moment, I feel that the benefits slightly outweigh this. If they would just make the PC editor work good, it would knock it out of the park.

Thanks for your hard work on this! Good job! (Your guitar playing is fine. I can't pull the trigger on this because simply put -- the sounds aren't as good as they were from older synths I've listened to from 90's and etc. Why has the synth sounds not improved overall? That includes DAW's too. I have Steinberg (Yamaha) VST sounds that are pretty darn good. But from a lot of DAW's and synths and etc. a lot of sounds just aren't that good.)

I am interested in the Boss SY 1000 but before buying it I would like to know if the guitar signal and the Gk (synth) signal can be used simultaneously with two different and independent sounds, using separate outputs. I have not found any indication in the manual. Thanks Fabio Pianigiani

Another great EP42 video. I agree its a shame about the inconsistency of presentation of functions between the editor and the unit (and the simple or outdated graphics) but let’s not forget that some of us would probably wire this for floor use so the editor would be essential.
