What I Really Think Of Apple's iPhone 14 Pro Max So Far..

You know, I always felt the 13 Pro Max was gonna to be a tough act to follow. It marked the first time any successor replaced the 4S as my favorite iPhone ever, even if notice I say iPhone. I don't necessarily feel Apple makes the best smartphones, or brings the most innovation, but if there's one thing the company does right is mastering the art of the "Old Reliable." It's like that emotional attachment you develop with your car, which if you think of it, is something most people don't change every year.

Cue in this new iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is a lot of its predecessor at least in looks, but not necessarily once you use it, and after spending a weekend with it, let's just say my first impressions are kind of a mixed bag. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow and let's dive in.

Just ordered the 14 Pro Max and I’m excited to FEEL the difference from my iPhone X (that I’ve been using for 5 years now). I’ve always held back upgrading unless it’s a huge jump. I think 5 years is a good waiting time!

Phones are just too expensive now without anything ground breaking. I was the person that needed the new Galaxy or iPhone 4, 4S, 5 and so on as soon as it came out. I was on the Apple Store site at 7:00am as soon as pre orders went live, constantly refreshing, and crossing my fingers that my order went through without any errors. Now I’m normally upgrading every 2 or 3 years. Still using my 12 pro max, maybe I’ll upgrade next year.

In my opinion, Apple is not interested in swaying android lovers from dropping their Samsungs or pixels. They’re making improvements for the Apple loyalist. When he mentioned the idea of turning to the iPhone now and again, that’s an absolutely spot on statement. As an iPhone user, I go back to my Samsung fold now and then. But, it’s never a thing where I’m ever going to switch.

I just upgraded from the iphone 11 pro max. For me its a big upgrade. Blown away from how smooth an buttery the refresh rate is, battery is significantly better, cameras are great. The dynamic island for me at least does not bother me at all. Everyone was up in arms about the notch when it first came out. Now ppl are saying they prefer the big notch of old, to me makes no sense. So give it some time and ppl will be saying the same thing about the dynamic island which at least this has more functionality.

I love the idea (and I don’t have a problem with the name) of “Dynamic Island”. I have an iPhone SE (2022) and I am tempted to move up to iPhone 14 Pro Max, but will probably wait until iPhone 15 series. 😢 Thanks for the video!! 👍🏻

Great video and I love your work. The issue I have is the one I have with just about all Tech Review channels and that's the comparison between iPhones and Android. It's never a fair comparison for anyone who is dug in to their respective ecosystems. Yes, the camera may be better on some android phones, but am I going to give up iMessage, iCloud, Apple Music, Handoff and all the other integrations just for that. No. It's like saying both are tools and they are, but one is a hammer and one is a screwdriver and you can't compare them.

I really like my iPhone 14 pro max. Only complaint is the battery last a little bit less than my 13 pro max. I guess because the AOD and the 2000 nits bright since I use the phone outdoors all the time.

Well, I lust upgraded from iPhone 12 to the 14 Pro Max and for me it is a huge upgrade, three cameras, AOD wihich I like a lot, Apple finally brought this feature to the iPhone, the Pro-motion display from 1hz to 120hz the Dynamic Island, some other features you didn't have in any previous iPhones in my opinion I'm blown away with the 14 Pro Max, I haven't have a big iPhone since my iPhone 7 plus and to finish with my comments, there's always going to be a phone with strong features and with weak features there is no PERFECT phone out there!!😁😁

I have the exact same opinion about the dynamic island. I already noticed during the keynote how annoying that can be when watching something in full screen. So, the software and features built around it are great, but they are just to explain why the "punchhole" is so big.

Face ID is way more reliable than Touch ID in my experience. Can’t believe people still want under screen finger print sensors. I tried switching to pixel 6 and couldn’t stand the sensor. I’m happy with Face ID

I am still...waiting! Gosh, ordering from AT&T seemed like a bad move for me. I'm upgrading from a 12 Pro Max, and am looking forward to the improved cameras and especially checking out the Macro mode. Though I am sad to hear that it isn't implemented as well as it was on the 13 Pro. I am also excited to see if I notice any significant difference in having the 120 hz screen.
