We've never had a drinks package & never will. Last Sept we had 14 nights on Arvia, drinking what we wanted, when we wanted and had a bill of £360 which I was still shocked about! The thought of paying £100 per day for drinks is madness; as you said at the start, it pays for another cruise.

We get the drinks package on Royal because, well, cocktails! Aussie dollars suck for exchange rates and the on board prices are USD. We save a shit load! 🙂

We’ve used p and o Cruises for at least six holidays now we’ve always had the drinks package but on are 14 night Cruise in February around the Caribbean on Arvia we really didn’t make much use of it as a lot of the trips included rum, punch and beer and also visited some fantastic bars in the port area where drink was cheap and the bars always had great atmosphere I would say we would have saved at least £500 if we didn’t take the drinks package, but I definitely think it’s worth it on seven night cruises like Norway and a northern Europe Cruise, as you seem to be on the ship more. Thanks for the great video.

Im having a 22 night cruise but 12 of these are shore days so it would be in the region of £1200 and i wouldnt be making use of nearly £600 on the shore days. Id prob only spend that on board for the full cruise.

I pay £36ea for classic, it's wise to do your research before committing.

Just come home from a week on Britannia, had the classic drinks package, and wish I hadn't bothered. I like a drink on holiday, but take off your shore time, and trying to give your liver a rest, it's not worth it, just pay as you drink and use your on board spend.

We didn't this time and only one night would have put us over the classic! Your dog is gorgeous. When you looks at that price on top of your cruise, definitely makes you think twice. Some good points there. We think we made the right decision. Great video 🍻

Your puppies are so cute!!! Thanks for the info. Never cruised P&O before, always cruise Princess, but going to give it a go because of your vids.

We have never taken the drinks package. We like several items that are not on even the deluxe package so would inevitably end up paying extra for certain bottles of wine etc. When we compare our bill at the end of the holiday it is allways on a par with what the drinks package would have cost but we have had more freeedom in our choices. We both feel however, that if unlike ourselves you are the typical nuclear family ie. 2 adults 2 kids then the standard drinks package would be excellent value for money.
