I always cut a hole out of the bottom. That way, you won’t have to worry about the top falling in and it just looks cleaner all around

Omg this is so useful! I'll be using this this yeat and the next!

Oh my! How did I get to advanced age without this life saver! I owe you so much. Now can I have my utterly wasted minute back.

Omg, that's actually so helpful, that you ❤

Cut the pumpkin from the bottom and add a triangle it's easier cleaner look and it will rot more late then it would if you cut from the top

Great tip and also I’m carving pumpkins so I can do this
xandjuiceswrld
I've just always cut it in a zig-zag type pattern

We have been doing this forever! It really helps!
mere.rowland
Just cut the bottom and throw out the piece completely and place it on clean surface like plate

I carved my very first pumpkin 🎃 ever in a stop motion

I cut from the back and usually have a notch for my lightbulb, but also, my carving method it’s a bit- unconventional. (The pumpkin is never cut all the way trough)

But that takes all the fun of guessing where it matches up and how it fits on perfectly when you get it right lol

My family has done this for as along as I can remember. Is this not common?!
merlinemrys
I do that but my parents never told me why❤😂

As a pumpkin, I am extremely traumatized-
Average_Indian_Family
I just turn it until I found the top match which take less then 3 seconds. So I get to have a perfect circle lol
But good trick still
meriamebrideau
I feel like if you’re bad enough at keeping your hands steady you’ll know where to put the top
Cameron
me be like.
I so do I most people do!
duckdoggo
I don't want the top to match up I think it's cool when it glows out the top
