In this tutorial we create the standard "Hello, world!" application using Java.

I introduce two very helpful shortcuts that the Eclipse IDE provides:

Automatically generate a main method: type 'main' and then press ctrl + space bar

Best video Java tutorial series I have literally ever come across. So much convoluted garbage out there, which ignorantly skips over much of the necessary fundamentals - and much of it seems more motivated by personal ego than desire to teach programming skills to others. Very refreshing to come across your clear and coherent series, Charlie. Well done, sir.

It prints the words "Hello, world" in the command line. That's it. It is just to introduce everyone to programming.

I don't have experience using Netbeans, but my guess is that it would offer similar functionality, possibly with different default keybindings. At work we use Intellij IDEA, and at home I use Eclipse. There are many differences in the keybindings, but both allow you to configure them to your liking.
