I think you may still have a chance! I recently broke a WR and it took 7 months to be confirmed, and was broken within the last month of that time frame by someone who paid to have it expediated. I was still recognised as the world recorder holder for the 6months I held it and DID receive a certificate. You should send Guinness nicely worded email explaining the situation and I reckon you should be be recognised! goodluck
