The first video in a new series for beginners, in this one we'll cover some of the basics rules of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition and run through a short actual game session. You learn about: the role of the DM, narrating your actions, skill checks, saving throws and making an attack.

I was obsessed with d&d when I was a kid but never never find anyone to play with so it was a game I played in my head mostly. I'm 47 now and my son found d&d and a game store that host games for magic the gathering and d&d as well that plays every other weekend. I love it that I get to play with my son in a huge campaign of 12! I drive 150 miles every other weekend to take him and we play for 4 hours or more as we chow down on burgers and hotdogs, chips, candy and deserts. My son helps me out with most of the details and he is very knowledgeable about d&d. It is the most bonding experience I have with my son since I haven't seen my son till he is 14 years old. I didn't know about him till he was 4 and then I lived in California and he lives in Florida. I recently moved to Florida to take care of my dad and started up a relationship with my son. Everything is going well and I have d&d to thank for helping me bond with my son.

I’ve never played but my boyfriend is a DM and he was telling me that all of his exes thought D&D was dumb and I told him that I want to learn and I even went as far as to buy a shirt that says “I’m Sleeping With The DM” all of his friends love that I’m learning about the things he’s passionate about

this seems like a great game that depends on imagination...you are not just having fun you are developing your ability to narrate stories and create characters

My school does after school clubs. There is dance club, pokemon, minecraft, homework, creating, and D&D. One of my friends In a higher grade made the dungeons and dragons one. Trying to upgrade our friendship. Get some mutual trust in there

My kids want to start playing because of watching Netflix's "Stranger Things". I have never played so I bought the Starter Set and was lost when looking at all of the books. they want me to be the DM, too... lol.
I want them to have a good experience with the game, and these videos (watched parts 1-4) certainly make me feel a little more comfortable with the DM role and with gameplay in general!!

Just tweeted "So when I was in middle school my class played this game with our teacher where we made our own characters, storyline, powers, rules, and created and drew our own board. We all kept track of what happened and even had currency and all that jazz.

What is this game!?!? D&D!?" and no one responded. So I came to Youtube to answer my own question lol
