I'm going to buy the Tuono and it's okay for me to pay for that extra quick shifter.

Im pretty sure Aprilia dialed down the power on the Tuono in order to make it A2 license legal in Europe.

I plan on giving the Triumph Street Triple a try, now I'll have to look at the Aprilia RS660 too. :>)

I would go tuono as my back needs as high as possible, Also prefer more upright through the hills, find I can flick it around easier and just feels more fun.
It might be expensive but these are premium bikes, getting to old to care about the money side of things as much, I just want the best experience. I cant find a bike I like more than my tuono, would love to see what this smaller one is like through the twisties. Thanks for the review, subscribed.

its a weird decision with the quality of the components being so different on the naked model, especially when the only thing the RS has going for it to justify having a 600cc at 10 grand is that it covers the cost of the higher end components used and specs and electronics being surprisingly great, however theres so many more affordable competitors in that category, and for 10 grand you can get a z900 or mt09 or myriad of other better performance/value bikes

in europe you can’t A2 restrict more than half the horsepower, so it’s 48Hp the max unrestricted allowed is 95Hp, hence the power figure on quite a lot of middle class bikes.

Is the Tuono supposed to be a naked bike? I don’t see the difference

Might be cheaper in Australia ha good luck. More like $5000 more than in the usa

I don’t think the choice cones down to the specs or cost between the 2. But the ergonomics!!

a2 bikes cant be restricted by more than 50%, i think thats why the overall power is less

edit: this also means that if you only have a2 you literally cant get the rs660

Are you 100% sure about the quickshift and IMU thing? seems weird to me.

Every European channel covering the tuono 660 says that it has the quickshifter + IMU as standard.... So it might be a US thing..

you need to upload your videos in higher fps bro, even watching the section of the video with your instagram is as choppy as a kangaroo stumbling over a hot bgq

So dumb title! Touno is the rs with comfort for who's wanting that and rs is a sportbike. There is no "don't buy" "get a rs instead" it's just dumb...

Is dismissing the Tuono before you've actually even ridden it, good advice? I would always ride it first, then decide. It's cheaper @ £9700 for the Tuono here in the UK, than the RS @ £10150 for a start! 👌 and you know what penny pinchers us pommies are!! 😅👍

I love the RS 660 🧡

At Tuono, too much equipment was saved.

I'm amazed at the small price difference in the EU between the Tuono and RS. Here in Canada it's a whopping $3000 difference. ($10500 vs. $13500). Could be worth picking up the Tuono with the quick shifter and IMU upgrades here. You'll probably still be pocketing around $2000. Is suspension worth 2k? Not on this bike I think. Not to mention the insurance is also about $400-$500 cheaper on the Tuono, because ridiculous sport bike tax.

I bought the Tuono for reasons others have mentioned, the more relaxed riding position being primary. However I did so smarting at missing out on the components in the RS. My experience thus far is that in terms of handling there is light between the 660 and any bike I’ve ridden before. The power is more than adequate for license keeping riding. The cruise control on a smaller bike is just what I was looking for. The stock sound is amazing. It is a little taller than I expected but the bike is so light, and balance instills so much confidence, my tip toe grounding is no drama. I was trying to find something with a bigger tank but nothing that had all the other options. My foot, and empty wallet, crave for a quick shifter! Did I mention the amazing handling? I am an older guy. Even though my son was blown away by his experience of riding it, a major reason I bought it is because it has attributes which will mean I can keep riding for years to come. It ticked the most boxes.

As soon as you said cheaper suspension my boner died for this bike. I don't get why manufacturers are prioritising all these electronic controls on bikes < 150 bhp, and skimping on the most important part for handling - suspension. It doesn't make sense. This Aprilia at 100 bhp does not need all those slide controls, what a load of bollocks. This comes form customer demand so we have the tech geeks to thank for this, well done guys.
