NOTE: Unit 4 is not included in the official AP Precalculus exam, but is still included in the curriculum.

Random AP Precalculus Problems (I found on the Internet). These are not official AP Collegeboard examples, but they will definitely get the job done!

Solving matrix equations using inverses involves the following steps:

1. **Given Equation**: Start with a matrix equation of the form \( AX = B \), where \( A \) is the coefficient matrix, \( X \) is the unknown matrix/vector, and \( B \) is the constant matrix/vector.

2. **Find the Inverse**: Calculate the inverse of matrix \( A \), denoted as \( A^{-1} \), if it exists. Remember that not all matrices have inverses; they must be square and non-singular (i.e., their determinant is non-zero).

3. **Multiply by the Inverse**: Multiply both sides of the equation by the inverse of matrix \( A \) on the left. This yields \( A^{-1}AX = A^{-1}B \).

4. **Simplify**: Since \( A^{-1}A \) equals the identity matrix \( I \), the equation simplifies to \( X = A^{-1}B \).

5. **Calculate Solution**: Finally, compute the product \( A^{-1}B \) to find the solution matrix/vector \( X \).

In summary, to solve a matrix equation using inverses, you find the inverse of the coefficient matrix, then multiply it by the constant matrix/vector on the other side of the equation to obtain the solution.
