When I was 15 I had life all figured out. Because of all my great knowledge my father and I did not get along for quite awhile. I joined the military at 18 to get as far as I could away from him. I realized immediatly all the life lessons my father had taught me and I was able to adapt them to the military and more importantly to my life. Today, I am 41, have been retired for over two years and live in a house on the same street I grew up on. As I'm typing this I am actually looking at my childhood home. I'm smiling because watching you and your son today reminded me of my father. He wasn't being a tyrant, he was preparing me for life just as you were in the video. I'll be sure to watch this video again with my father, being that he is my best friend and

It's not only the authenticity of your videos it's the cleanest . We are tired of the sexual content, the violence, and just generally overall filthiness that comes out of Hollywood anymore, or at least I am. Thank you wranglerstar.

I have these same talks with my son. He doesn't want to understand that I am trying to give him the tools he needs to survive in the world.

As I was watching this video, I reached the point with the piano music when the three of you were working together, and I realized THIS is why I like to watch your channel. This is real family, working with each other, helping and caring for one another. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. God's blessings to you!

It's so refreshing to see proper parenting. If only I had a father like you Cody. Keep up the great videos!

Mr.Wranglerstar in my opinion you didn't downgrade jack in any way. I see it as you are teaching him important life skills. It's the kind of person that you are bringing up that I would love to higher as an employee. Like your wife said, I have no problem teaching anyone anything that I know, but if they have a negative attitude then it's hard to find the motivation to teach them. So good on you buddy, I'm glad to see parents that still care so much.

Your explanation of the exchange with Jack is spot on. Children need direction from time to time, and we as parents must do those things. I made a point to show my son that exchange because it re-enforces the fact that we are acting as parents, and teaching/coaching. We are not just being mean, or difficult. Very glad to see you included it, and I certainly understand your internal debate to keep it in, or take it out. As parents, we only want the best for our children, and its expressed through our parenting.

It's one thing I love about this channel, the authenticity. You're just real. Mistakes, they get shown, blunders, they get confessed, life, it gets shown. Human. Thank you.

I'm 16 and just got my first job last week, and the conversation you had with Jack was spot on, thankfully my parents did the same when I was about his age

I had no problem with the scene with Jack. You and your wife have done a good job raising Jack from what I've noticed.

I think Mr Wranglerstar showed outstanding moral conviction, not just in teaching his son to be a better, more prosperous man, but by being humble and real enough to show all of us that families (and children especially) don't come "out of the box" perfect. It takes a lot of hard work and conversations just like that one to make sure your children grow up to be the type of people that become happy, healthy and wise. i don't have any children yet, but I do have an amazing father, and I am thankful for him every day of my life for having conversations with me just like that one. Anyone that thinks he was too hard on little jack is frankly out of touch. I have been on the both ends of conversations that were too harsh, and that wasn't one of them.

Thank you for taking the risk and sharing some family moments. I could see that your son was hurting a little, but that is where the love covers and builds.

Wheel studs, and lug nuts! Jack is a fine young man and he will catch on, it just takes time! Well done!

The most dangerous thing in a vehicle is standard all over the world - the nut behind the wheel!

try temporarily screwing a 2x4 to the wall about 1 1/2' down from the ceiling. You can then set the edge of your ceiling board on the 2x4 to hold it up and level while you raise up the remaining side and screw it in place I find this to be a lot easier because you aren't balancing the entire weight while you are trying to screw it in. It becomes a pretty easy one man operation

I think that your conversation with Jack was honest and true and necessary. I was raised this way and I went back to my parents and thanked them for it in adulthood.

Kudos for adding the part about counseling Jack. We have those same discussions with our kids about attitude, work, and forward looking. You're raising a good kiddo.
