Erebus - Extreme Demon - by BoldStep
Показать описание
This is Erebus, the last RGB level I needed to complete.
Gonna give a quick rundown on what the "RGB" is, since this is the first time I'm mentioning it in a description. The RGB is a series of levels (Sonic Wave, Yatagarasu, Erebus) that interchanged frequently with one another for the #1 spot in the midst of 2017. It's filled with some of the most popular extreme demons of all time and is probably the most "decent" series of levels I've ever played. The name comes from Red, Green, Blue, which are the primary colours in additive color synthesis.
This level has an interesting backstory. Unlike Yatagarasu or Sonic Wave, this wasn't well known prior to release, or a complicated process to verify. This layout was made for Sea1997's creator contest back in 2016 by ilrell, and was then decorated by Rustam. After it was finished in 2.0, BoldStep spent 40k~ attempts to verify it and finished the process in early 2.1. Thanks to this, there's some 2.1 elements, such as J blocks in the last dual, but for the most part it's a 2.0 level.
The decoration is pretty outdated, but for the time it has a nice charm to it. I don't really have much to say about it. It definitely speaks Rustam.
The gameplay is really solid. I didn't encounter any bugs when playing this and I wouldn't say I had many complaints either. Everything gets consistent if you play it for long enough, and I wouldn't say anything feels unfair either...with the exception of the 30% straight fly. There's invisible blocks that straighten your ship out, which are good, but it's entirely invisible so it's incredibly hard to tell where these blocks end so it makes it very very easy to die here. Other than that, it's pretty good. It's incredibly awkward and bizarre to start out with, but quickly you'll find that everything just works.
Overall this is a very skill based, inoffensive level and if you have the patience to play something more condensed I'd definitely recommend it. It's unfortunate I didn't.
The hardest part is 40% to 47%.
