Thank you for this review. It seemed pretty objective. Pretty Honest. Thank you.-Ernie Moore Jr.

I love this one, definitely a hidden gem. Of the films I’ve seen from Jackie’s Lo Wei period, I think the following are all really good-to-great kung fu films in their own right:

SHAOLIN WOODEN MEN
SNAKE AND CRANE ARTS OF SHAOLIN
SPIRITUAL KUNG FU
DRAGON FIST
THE FEARLESS HYENA

Then a bit lower down I’d put NEW FIST OF FURY, which is pretty decent, way better than its rep would have you believe; it’s just that it isn’t really a Jackie Chan starring film, it’s a Nora Miao film. And at the bottom I’d put TO KILL WITH INTRIGUE, which has a complete mess of a story, and Jackie’s character isn’t likable or compelling; however, it’s still worthwhile because of its Kung Fu set pieces and its interesting villainess. (I still haven’t seen KILLER METEORS, MAGNIFICENT BODYGUARDS 3D or HALF A LOAF OF KUNG FU.) In general I think the Lo Wei period films are sadly underrated and am so thankful to have these fantastic Blu-rays of them from 88 Films.

This was Lo Wei's answer to Jackie's Half a Loaf of Kung Fu.
