Very valuable review, Robin. I agree with all your points. I picked the Classic, because of the price and because I got tired of flying the AIR 2S and getting critical battery warnings - though, I love the AIR 2S, it's a terrific quad. The minis don't like them much because too dependent on prevailing wind speeds. I think the Mavic 3 Pro will suffer on fly time relative to the Mavic 3 Classic, like the AIR 2S did, relative to the Mavic Air 2.

I think tha main difference between the Mavic 3 and the Mavic 3 Classic is, that the Classic is still in production. :)

Air 2s can fly only in A3 area from 01.01.2024, which means outside urban area with min. distance of 150m. Just I sold my Air 2s and bought the Classic.

I am thinking about this drone, but I am waiting to see what the future Air 3s is going to offer. I may even wait on a good refurbished Mavic 3 or 3 Pro and an m for that? I don’t really want the Mini 3, but hoping in some cases I can use my Avata in needed spots and make up the difference with my Air 2s or something above it. Not sure yet.

I have an Air 2S and a Mavic 3 Classic. These two drones do everything I need to do and then some. It's whatever works for you. I've never found justification to pay bank for the latest and greatest when what I have suites my requirements 100% +. Bragging rights can be expensive. But hey, whatever floats your boat. To each his own pocketbook. ;-)

With release of Mini 3 PRO, Air2s became somewhat like unloved child, everyone talk about Mini 3 pro or Mavic 3. I have Air 2s, and I like how it can handle winds, also it fully unlocked, so I can fly whenever I want, at altitude I want. The only downside is battery flight time. I also bought Mavic 3 for longer flights, but with all this geofencing it's not get you this freedom as Air2s does. And of course Mavic 3 is even more capable in the wind, and telecamera gives you some cool shots. Also Air2s fly more combo is well-thought-out package, with convenient bag that fit easily in my backpack. I can't say this for Mavic 3 combo, bag is just stupid and ridiculously large, so I have to buy another, 3-rd party bag. It also lacks powerbank adapter for battery, feature that I often used in Air2s.

i need a new drone by the end of may for a trip in June. ive been patiently waiting for an Air 3 release but it seems like its not going to happen in time. really bummed because the air series was always released in April....guess im getting a classic. better to have features and not need them than to need them and not have them..

Thanks for this review. I ended up settling on an Air 2s. Wanted to upgrade (from mini 2) but need to prove I can get a good return on investment before picking up a top tier drone in the mavic 3 line since this isn’t my primary source of income 😅.

That old advice about not waiting for the exactly right drone to be The M3 Pro's 958g and C2 classification, together with DJI discontinuing the M3/M3 Cine creates a problem. We only had about 3 weeks notice of the M3 Pro being released and no warning that the M3/Cine would stop production. So, is the M3 Classic the only C1 option, or do DJI intend to release a mid-level M3 drone soon? How can people decide which drone to spend considerable money on when we don't know DJI's strategy.

I would get the Mni 3 Pro but my area gets pretty windy and the locations id like to shoot would be in a windy locations. So with that, Mavic 3 Classic for me. Been waiting to get a refurbished unit but still no luck. I thought i could get away with my Avata and strap a gopro 11 on top but it just doesnt move the same as the Mavic/Mini pro.

Mavic is certainly a better deal considering Sea-Mountain locations
(better - stable in Wind
and sensors all around).

I wish they would make it possible to have swappable lens. Work with a dog shelter and wish i could throw a thermal on my mini 3 pro when i need it but the weight would be too much probably. But on the classic it shouldn't be a problem.

I'm actually thinking about selling my air 2 for DJI mini 3 pro 🤔

I've had mini 3 pro and mavic 3 for testing (for my channel as partnered content)

While the mavic 3 is a beast, I was personally more impressed by mini 3 pro ( could be because it fits my niche a bit better (travel))

Still thinking if Air2s would not be a better choice ( or sticking with air 2) in case of winds 🤔

Good video. I'm waiting for the reveal of the Mavic 3 pro in a few hours. I need a more capable drone thats larger than the mini 2 that i have now. I'll be ordering one IF the Mavic 3 pro is as expected and will be available soon.

The parallax footage you can get with the zoom lens is wonderful and a stunning effect.

The cine is likely out of price range and tbh likely doenst have features that most need or will use.

I may still get a mini 3 pro but I am still debating on holding out for the mini 4. People are trying to anticipate if the Mini 4 will be out this year or not.
