How To Change Gear - 3rd to 2nd (avoiding 4th)

How to drive a manual / stick shift car. It's common for a new driver learning to drive a manual car to accidentally change to 4th gear instead of 2nd. It could be caused by rushing the gear change or it's how you change gear, your technique that's the problem.

In Indian cars (at least) the 2nd to 3rd transition (and vice-versa) could be easily achieved by forcing the stick diagonally towards 3rd away from 2nd gear. You can check if your car has it too.

Looking at the interior, I am guessing that you have the current Ford Fiesta. I do that in my car, push to left coming down from third to second and also a push lightly to the right going from fourth to fifth, because I used have trouble changing from fourth to fifth.
