Birmingham may be losing population somewhat, but some of it's suburbs and exoburbs are gaining people pretty steadily or even rapidly in some cases.

Perhaps not gaining as quickly as Huntsville and it's metro area, but Bham metro remains the biggest population center in the state by a healthy margin as of Sept. 2024.

That Youtuber you chose, Briggs, makes shit up all the time. Most of his info is wrong and so are the pictures of the cities he picks.

It would be helpful to know when video was made. Last I heard abt Baltimore in mid-year 2024, violent crime rates were down double digits (some like homicide as much as 30+%).

Also, doesn't seem as if video creator takes into account that many may move out of a city into surrounding burbs due to growing size of household.

ETA: Annapolis also has US Naval Academy:)

The Las Vegas numbers are completely misleading. Most people in the LV valley don’t live in Paradise. Most of the homes in Paradise are older and run down. People with money moving and currently living in LV live further away from the strip. The county’s population is nearly 3mil.

Before watching I’m guessing Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Chicago. Anywhere that’s got methadone row.

Briggs talks about Orange County and L.A. like they're on opposite sides of the planet.

Most of my family is moving out of Jackson to Houston Texas. I'm assuming that's where everyone else in the city has disappeared to as well. Everyone you talk to here has the mindset that Texas is the promise land.

This video isn’t entirely accurate. It’s half truth and half lie. Most of these towns or cities he talks about on here might be losing some people in the actual town or city he says (truth part)… but the overall metro areas of these places, which are the actual whole city.

When you look at it from the whole metro area, most of these places are growing and getting bigger. So most of the places just have people moving from the inner city or metro area to another suburb or part of the metro area. (False part of the video not being told)

In San Fransico they just had a 1st draft 49er's football player shot in a robbery, by a 17year old. He is recovering and will be fine. I think most leave due to jobs, crime and taxes. Will there be any photos of the swim, hope Declean does well, and meets is goal.

Baltimore, Murderland has an INSANE amount of violent crime, even during the daytime. I will NEVER go to Baltimore ever again, for ANY reason.

Strange that you had a show about violence today.

They are wrong about SF. It actually grew by a small percentage in the latest numbers. It is expected to grow again next year. BTW, SF still has a lower crime rate than a lot of other major US cities and it has the highest GDP per capita of any major US city.

Well the aerial flyover photo shown when talking about Santa Ana is not Santa Ana. The rest though appears accurate. I'm a former OC resident who left years ago due to ridiculous growing density and money affording less and less. Not sure why Griggs always brings politics into it. Being Republican matters not when prices are soaring. And I wouldn't touch Temecula. It's got all the cost and problems of the OC and the heat of Palm Springs. If you don't like the OC then Temecula is not a better option.

I was pretty sure of getting employment when I relocated. My priorities were the cost of living, nearby activities, natural physical beauty nearby, and interesting local culture, history, and restaurants. And the highest need was no excessively hot temps. (I lived in Phoenix for some years before the Valley of the Sun was even as hot as it is now. Swore to never put up with that again.)

I think people are moving to st louis. Housing is more affordable for mid size city. Also the crime is North St louis and East St Louis Illinois
