IT'S DONE! First flight in my new cockpit

The 4-month aircraft upgrade is done! How much did it cost, what does it do, and how does it perform on a test flight over Melbourne. See the new Garmin equipment in action on the ground and in the air. After 5 months in the hangar it's amazing to be flying EYZ again, I hope you enjoy the new cockpit as much as I know I'm going to.

Equipment installed are 2 x Garmin G500 TXi, a Garmin GI 275. This compliments the existing Garmin GTN650s that were already installed in this aircraft.

Never in my life prior to finding your channel Stef, would I have ever thought I'd miss seeing someone fly their aircraft, and derive such joy from seeing their return! The fact you speak "pilot speak" and also explain things to us laypeople in understandable terms, I feel I should almost be part paying for the fuel each flight. Hey Stef, the upgrade looks fantastic! It’ll be just what you need for that much delayed round the world flight!😉 You might need to look at the settings on your camera’s though, that flicker might get a bit annoying for some viewers on your longer flight vids.

EYZ back in the air! I am guessing that you left the protective film on the Garmin screens until the dash has the batman stripes done. Peeling the film off would make a good Instagram reel a peel reel. And once again your video makes me miss living in Melbourne, where if you don't like the weather, you just wait 15 minutes.
