1 Kings 2 | Solomon Takes the Throne | Bible Study

This Bible study devotional covers 1 Kings 2. In this passage, as David dies, he gives advice to his son Solomon. He encourages him to tie up loose ends from his reign so he can start his own kingship with a clean slate.

As always, we are committed to showing you how to see the good news of the Gospel in every passage of Scripture. In 1 Kings 2, we see that what Solomon is in part, what Jesus is in full. Jesus is the new Adam who destroys the old and makes us into new creations. Jesus is our new Moses who interprets and applies God’s law to our hearts, and Jesus is the final courageous Joshua who conquers our enemies.

I feel the table shows the Word (in the physical form of the Bible) is steady and grounded (on all 4 legs so to speak). I feel the light bulb is turning on a light so that all who see the book can read what it says it and "be prepared" for what is to come.
