Thank you so much! I'd say about 3hrs from start to finish on wash day. The twisting itself takes a little over an hour.

Have you ever tried finger detangling under water? I find that it's sometimes easier that way or detangling with a good deep conditioner that has lots of slip. Then you can braid or twist up each section when you finish and just keep them in while you rinse out the conditioner. That will help keep the hair from tangling all over again.

Beautiful! I can't wait to start wearing my natural hair. Our texture looks very similar. I'm rocking box braids and love them, I workout a lot and it's the best thing for my hair. February will be 2 years of transitioning for me.

I think that you should look through many natural's videos on how to develop a routine for natural hair. I have 4b/c hair and I use Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie as a detangler. Try a non sulfate shampoo. I recently tried castor oil for my scalp and to seal in moisture (daily spritz of water in a water bottle). A routine plus protective styles will allow you to retain length. My hair is very soft. I measured and although my hair grows at .5 in/month I have almost an inch! Braiding helps!

Love your hair! You inspire me to keep going with my natural hair. When i first big chop my hair grew a lot and it looked like yours then i did all these things and recently i just did my second big chop. Now I'm focus on healthly hair no longer length anymore. I'm 19 and i was scared rockin a twa in college but I'm ok. Hair grows.
