There is a greater and longer-term plan here. If you look at the German economic policy since the intro of the euro, they have pushed wagr stabilisation, fiscal austerity and indeed mild deflationary policies firstly in Germany and thereafter with the financial crisis, the same measures in the troubled periphery. This is part of the plan to increase the relative competitiveness of Europe and they have been quite clear about his for many years. The fundamental issue is the disparity between the fiscal policy necessary in Germany and the northern countries and peripheral countries. This is a fundamental flaw of the euro. The question is: how much can people take before the fiscal as well as the political union cracks. The next elections should be watched closely, every scare-tactic in the book will be used to pressure voters. But, what cannot go on, will not go on.

It's very simple money is power and power is control, when the government controls the money they control the people, when people control the money the people control the government, if people had real living wages and a valid financial safety net rather they worked or not, their would be no real crime to speak of.

Bill Black was great as usual, but this interviewer was worthless. She just made some funny faces, and I really doubt she understood half he was saying. I hope she learns how to engage her interviewees in meaningful ways or finds a job on some fake news program. Maybe Paul Jay has just raised my standards.
