We can all say "well of course they'd win at their own craft", but here is the thing.  If Floyd and Conor were walking down the street and for some reason got upset and started a fight, Conor would be the one walking away while Floyd is knocked out cold on the pavement.  That's real life, and outside of their respective sports, that's what people care about.

It's a split/toss up. If the MMA guy had to fight under boxing rules - The boxer is going to win 99% of the time. If the Boxer has to adhere to MMA rules - The MMA guy wins 99% of the time. On the street, I'd say it favors the MMA guy, BUT it really comes down to athleticism in a street fight. The fastest, most agile, guy usually wins!

People aren't making a clear distinction on this issue. Dana, Connor- both have said any MMA fighter could beat Floyd- that's IF it were a mixed art fight- MMA vs. Boxing. Connor DID say it would take him no time to beat Floyd in his own style. He actually never said he would beat Floyd at boxing- but that he said "who would not love to 'dance around the ring with Floyd for 180 million". Connor hasn't actually come out and said he would win against Floyd in a boxing match. He also actually said that he'd said before he 'does not think Boxing is the style that can beat Floyd" - which sounds to me like a concession, or admittance that Floyd IS the best at HIS game. But he's said he would dismantle him if there were no limits or f Floyd stepped into an MMA fight. just go back to the interview it's the one between him & Conan O Brien.
