Avec sa façade en verre argenté reflétant les humeurs de la Méditerranée, le W Barcelone s’élève comme une voile face à la mer. Véritable chef-d’œuvre d’architecture imaginé par le catalan Ricardo Bofill, les 26 étages de cet hôtel 5 étoiles font désormais partie intégrante de l’identité de la ville. Imaginée par l’architecte d’intérieur Marta Vilallonga, c’est la mer qui a servi de fil rouge à la décoration intérieure. Dans les 473 chambres de l’hôtel, des algues sont intégrées dans des parois en verre, des vases flottent sur l’eau, des formes arrondies ou rongées par l’écume œuvrent à cette allégorie marine. Les jeux de couleurs, de transparence et de reflets apportent calme et confort aux chambres. La plus belle d’entre elles, la suite Wow située au 25e étage, est une véritable expérience subaquatique. Le lit posé en son centre semble flotter sur les eaux. Seul hôtel de la ville à proposer un accès direct à une plage, la plage San Sebastian, le W possède également une piscine en plein air, un spa Bliss et un centre de fitness Sweat. Plusieurs restaurants et bars sont à disposition dont le Bravo 24 où le Chef catalan Carlos Abellán, étoilé Michelin, mène sa croisade culinaire en faveur de la viande, et le très hype bar l’Eclipse, sur le toit du W Barcelone, où dans un décor unique, chic et design, fashionistas et célébrités se retrouvent au dessus de la ville, au son d’une musique électronique. With its façade of silver tinted glass reflecting the moods of the Mediterranean, the W Barcelona rises up like a mainsail facing the sea. This veritable architectural masterpiece created by Ricardo Bofill, is home to the 26 story five star W Barcelona, an integral part of the city’s identity. Inside the building, interior architect Marta Villalonga used the sea as the recurring theme of her décor. In the hotel’s 473 rooms, algae is incorporated into the glass walls, silt floats on the water and rounded shapes eroded by the foam are all part of this marine allegory. The play of colors, transparency and reflections gives the rooms a feeling calm and comfort. The most beautiful room of all, the Wow Suite on the 25th floor, is a veritable underwater experience. The bed placed in the center of the room seems to be floating on the water. The W, the only hotel in the city to offer guests direct access to a beach, the San Sebastian Beach, also has an open air swimming pool, a Bliss spa and the Sweat fitness center.
