0.1 Welcome - Dr. Christopher C. Odom, MFA, PhD 👋🏾

Hello, I’m Dr. Christopher C. Odom. I’ve been a Course Director at Full Sail University for over +10 years. I’ve taught graduate and undergraduate students screenwriting, video production, personal branding, and career preparedness.

I earned my PhD in Texts and Technology, Digital Media from the University of Central Florida and my MFA in Film and Television from the University of California, Los Angeles. My research area of focus is within the visual imagery of social movements.

Specifically, my dissertation examined the visual imagery of the George Floyd protests within social media and how the visual media motivated people worldwide to take to the streets in the middle of a pandemic to protest and demand social justice and social change.

A published author and graduate of the UCLA MFA Program in Film, TV and Digital Media, I’m also a domestic and international award-winning filmmaker and voiceover talent whose work has appeared in major cities worldwide including Cannes, Berlin, Tel Aviv, New York, and Los Angeles.

🎥 I shot demo reel footage for earlier career comedian, Earthquake, at the Uptown Comedy Club in Atlanta;

⛪ I sang (badly…I’m sure my mic was off) with the Praise Team at the First AME Church in Los Angeles;

🕺🏽 I worked for over +10 years as professional swing dancer and performed for President Bill Clinton in Los Angeles;

🏆 As a filmmaker, my work has won over +20 international and domestic;

🎙️ And, I’ve narrated over +40 audiobooks on Amazon and Audible.
