tips for beginners

Doors is heavily based on cues and hearing, so I suggest maybe turning up your in-game volume so you can actually hear screech as well as rush. Sometimes the lights won't flicker or won't flicker much and rush comes anyway, so being able to hear it makes you much more prepared. Screech will usually do a "psst" sound when near in dark rooms, so when you suspect it is around look for it and stare it down. Always be wary though, since screech can also appear without warning and if you are not fast enough it will take roughly 33.33% of your health.

Every doors monster is unique. Use this fact to differentiate between enemies so you know what to do when you face them. For example, ambush is an enemy that will rebound multiple times, and has a green glow. It is similar to rush. To counter it, simply enter a closet and exit once ambush is not around. Repeat until you cannot hear it.

For seek, follow the blue lights. Immeditately making decisions is key. Every second counts. Do not crouch the entire time, as crouching slows you down. Only crouch when prompted.

If you are not sure of the abilities a monster is able to do, I suggest reading the death messages given by the guiding light, as they give you tips on how you can avoid the monster.

If the lights flicker and there are eyeballs in the room, rush or ambush is not coming.

You can hide from rush or ambush in vents.

If there is a locked door and rush comes, rush will rebound. If you are not careful and get out of a closet early, you might be caught by this.

For door 50, invincibility spots are key in order to solve the puzzle without any difficulties, as well as crouching. Being smart and using these to your advantage can help you avoid doing the closet minigame altogether. These spots include the entrance door to door 50, the corner next to the blocked staircase near the shelf with the paper, as well as near the exit of door 50.

The figure has a predictable path. Use this to your advantage by staying clear of it. If you suspect that it may be coming towards you, immediately go to your nearest invincibility spot.

The more books you pick up, the larger the figure's detection range gets and the faster it moves, if you are near it will know. Take note of this as you are collecting books. Being able to hear the figure's footsteps getting closer also helps.
Crouching over fallen rubble will make sound. Avoid these at all costs.

For Door 100, you can skip hiding in the closet room all together simply by immediately walking past the figure after the cutscene, where you will able to get the key easily. Then, you can sneak over to the elevator power room. Once you complete the short minigame, immediately sprint towards the elevator!

Looting is a good way to gain certain items that can help you, especially large cabinets with many drawers. They can contain lockpicks, flashlights, lighters, and vitamins, which can help you progress or flee easily.

Inputting the wrong code into the lock on door 50 will immediately notify the figure of your location. When this happens, immediately go to your nearest invincibility spot, that being the corner to the right of the exit.

If you are playing with multiple people, before entering the code, make sure all members are at the exit. Once it is solved, the figure will immediately know the location of other players who have not exited door 50.

FunFact: The green monsters name is Ambush. He can go back and fourth up to 6 times. It is rare to see him before levels 40. Ambush appears mainly at floors 52 - 95. Surviving Ambush gives you the Rebound (Coming back for seconds). Ambush also is annoying due to how early it can appear. It can appear and door 5. Also don’t forget ambush has a trashy hitbox. Meaning as soon as you hear his noise you hide. Hiding when he is right by can result in death ☠️.

TIPS FOR DOORS BEGINNERS

1 when the lights flicker hide in a wardrobe or bed If its rush hide once and if hes gone get out of hiding but if its ambush he will appear back and fourth for up to 6 times While hes gone get out and hide again in the same spot.(BONUS its super rare to encounter ambush early cause he only appears between room 52-95)

2 when the light flickers for like 2 secs or a while that means you are about to encounter halt And if you encounter halt you must try to get to the end of the hallway If your screen shows a screen that says TURN AROUND then follow what it says

3 if there are eyes around the walls that means you are about to encounter seek If you encounter him there will be a short scene and after the scene is over you have to do a chase where there are crouch spaces to crouch through (there is a second chase where its a little hard cause you have to look like both of the ways to find the door cause the first room is not a crouch space room)

4 If you reach door 50 you need to walk while crouching cause you will encounter figure and you have to find books and the books will show you some of the codes After that find a paper The paper shows you the code and will show shapes If you have the same shapes follow the number in order and get the code If you are missing one shape then find one more book (or more if you dont have some of it)the lock is upstairs and thats the thing to put the code

5 sometimes if you go to a room eyes will appear (not seek) and if you see him do not look at him instead just walk backwards or look down while walking until its gone

BONUS sometimes when you try to hide jack will show up but dont worry cause it doesnt do any damage but if you were trying to hide from some entitys AKA the monsters you will die (you wont if you have some time to hide)

BONUS sometimes when you check drawers timothy will show up and do a little damage

BONUS sometimes if you hide dont hide for too long cause eventually you will get kicked out by hide and take a lot of damage And if your heart is pounding while hiding get out immediatly or you will encounter it

BONUS when you play with other people or friends always stay together If you get left glitch will appear and send you back to the pack and do damage to you

BONUS if you hear a "psst" sound look for screech immediatly or you will take damage (he only lurks in dark rooms and i also recommend to turn your volume up while you play cuz sometimes you wont hear the psst sound or unexpecttedly get damaged by screech OR wont hear the arrivals of the monsters BUT if your volume is still up you will still get killed by rush cause sometimes you dont see the lights flicker and you know what that means :) )

The items : the flashlight is useless and it can go down easily. The lighter is useful, it goes down slow and much different. The lockpick is for dark rooms that has locked doors. The vitamins can help you be fast and it can heal you. *Your sister called it pills*

[TIP] if you are in a room that looks like a plus + if your not on the side that the door is on you won’t die because you just have to be out of its way

And yes when ambush comes twice he will leave so get out then he will come back so get in again keep doing that until he is fully gone.
