Perfectly fair, and honest. This is how I like my reviews.

I'm sorry but 11$ for a slice of tomato and 2 onion slices is painful.

More reviews and food vloggers like this! Fair, honest, to the point. Perspectives and reflections. Thank you.

I went to Peter Luger about 20 years ago with my folks. Even back then the servers were gruff. Someone at another table tried to order a well done steak, a manager came by and told them to go to McDonald's if they want that. Also back then I recall the bar not having seats at all, it was standing room only. The food was excellent though, I still think about it to this day.

My family went there when we visited NY in 2007, and it was the greatest steak I’ve ever had. I was 13 then, im 30 now. Never had anything better

Let’s be honest here kitchens and restaurants have loss there quality of worker since the covid era. And 11 dollars for onions and tomatoes is criminal

I love that luger won't change. There's a particular romance to actually taking out a few hundred dollar bills out of a bill fold to pay for something. To me Plastic is cold and lifeless . Just one mans opinion of course

The price for the tomatoes and onions is ridiculous. The service is equally disappointing. For the price of the steak, how was the flavor and seasoning? I hear if it's a good steak all you need is salt and pepper so I'm curious to know if that's the case on your experience?

Hmm...We had no issues using a Debit card in Oct 2022. Steakhouse was great not awesome. It's a bucket list place to go for sure.

It's always interesting to view reviews of Peter Luger's. I've always had great service each time I go.

They really have a great porter house steak . But now with so many steak house choices in NYC and the surrounding suburbs you can get a comparable steak . It’s an iconic restaurant that as you note now caters to tourists #Wulffdendad

I'm going to give you the reason places like Peter Lugers don't take CC's. For the amount most people are spending, if they did take CC's, most people would use them. And their lies the problem. I'm going to give you some easy numbers. Lets say they take in 10k for the night, all on CC's. That means they're paying the CC companies around 500 bucks. Now, that may not seem like allot compared to the 10k. But, they didn't make 10k. After all their expenses, they probably only made around 2K. Probably less. Now, take away 500 bucks. Over 25 percent of their profits go toward the CC companies. Oh, and those CC fees they pay aren't tax deductible. So it actually counts as profit. That's why so many places are moving toward the chargeback system, where the customer pays all the fees. But then you pay that 5 percent.

Your anecdote of the table behind you seems to be like the steakhouse itself. One table is not happy with the steak and gets treated like shit while another table is very happy with their steak...and gets treated like shit. That explains their odd new slogan: _Peter Lugar Steak House: Good luck!_

Places like that always want to bask in the glory of past the real expression to apply here is: what have you done for me lately?
