The Best Settings for The War Within

An overview of the most important settings in World of Warcraft: The War Within. These are the settings I’ve found to offer the best balance between performance and maintaining a beautiful game. I also share some thoughts on game options that I personally couldn’t play without.

Change 1 to 0 to return to default settings.

*It’s all down to personal preference, and hardware, of course.*
PvP players might prefer lower input lag, while casual outdoor players often prioritize visual quality and immersion. Since I primarily play Mythic+, I aim for a good balance between the two.

Definitely a very clean setup!

I started using the DynamicCam addon specifically to increase the vertical pitch a bit. It increases the space you have in front of you and helps give me more room for stacking nameplates during big pulls. It also limits the space behind you which, as a Ranged DPS, is less useful to me.

I love you bro, one more recommendation for settings would be: Don't use "render scaling" below your default resolution (100%), like 98.96% (I don't know what causes it, but it reduces your performance, same with capped fps, just use it uncapped and u will probably have a smoother experience) Btw, this depends on your PC, but it can happen.

If you’d like to cap your FPS for whatever reason I’d recommend to always do it through third party software like nvidia control panel for nvidia users for example. Capping your FPS in-game can also cause some input lag issues.

I play on 1440p ultra with consistent 140fps but I was getting bad stuttering when going inside caves or buildings. I set Vertical sync and it fixed my issue.

Setting framecap in WoW will give unstable frametimes when its reaching the cap. Most games give bad frametimes if capping in the game engine, same if you are running VSYNC often better to set it in NVCP (as with GSYNC).
Set framerate limit in NVCP or RTSS, and set something your PC can hold stable in dungeons and raids. Unstable frametimes gives stutters and uneven input lag, even if the fps is high.
