I think it's great that you're being intentional with your time and there's nothing wrong with just working side jobs. You have to do what makes sense for you. I think you'll feel a little better once you put in your notice, if you're wanting to be done with your current job by the beginning/end of September I'd suggest giving them a 4 week notice especially since it seems like you're in a pretty important role.
