The much-awaited Union Budget 2020 is proposed to be presented on February 1, 2020. Considering the challenges faced by the Indian economy over the past year, there are varied expectations from different stakeholders from the Union Budget including focus on growth and employment in the
economy and to bring about the much-needed change to boost the morale of India Inc. In our view, the Budget should focus to give the economy a boost including growth of manufacturing sector, reviving the real estate sector, providing impetus to infrastructure sector, enhancing ease of doing business, providing incentives to revitalize the banking industry and the NBFCs, generate employment, rural development, benefits to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and common man, foreign direct investments, promoting digital means, etc. The Government will also need to give due consideration to fiscal aspects.
