Protect yourself this holi 🌼
I love holi but my skin and hair are super scared. It’s time you started taking care of yourself so your skin regime doesn’t go for a toss. Just follow these tips before playing tomorrow and your body will thank you 🦋
Share with your friends and family to make sure they have a happy holi 🎀
Hair care 👩🦰
• Apply coconut, olive or almond oil to your hair and scalp. This will create a protective barrier against colour damage.
• Keep your hair tied in a bun or braids to minimise colour contact. If possible, cover your hair with a cap or scarf to protect it from colour splashes.
• Use a mild shampoo to wash off the colours from your hair. Follow up with a conditioner to restore moisture.
• Refrain from using heat styling tools on your hair immediately after Holi to prevent further damage.
Skin care 🧴
• Apply a thick layer of moisturiser to create a barrier between your skin and the colours.
• Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to protect your skin from UV rays and colour damage.
• Apply a dark-coloured nail polish to protect your nails from staining and trim your nails to reduce colour accumulation.
• Use a mild cleanser to wash off the colours from your skin. Avoid scrubbing, as it can irritate your skin.
• After cleansing, apply a soothing moisturiser to your skin to restore hydration.
• You can also apply a paste of gram flour (besan) and milk to gently exfoliate your skin and remove colour stains.
Bonus tip: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within.
I hope you enjoy this festival of colours with your loved ones. Take care 🌸
