Barbie is about to open, it looks set to be amazing at the boxoffice, but where the movies messaging is concerned, that word of mouth is decidedly negative.

This could be the next to be hit by the Bud Light effect.

"Barbie" is ultra No Duh!! Movie Guide started warning people about this days ago. But because the critic was a male, people instantly bashed him, saying "this movie is not for you." But he also warned this movie is also not for little girls, which is the exact target consumer who the original Barbie doll was made for. Just because the movie released a trailor which hid their agenda, it seemed many people- who should know better by now- were fooled.

I decided to avoid any kind of spoilers about Barbenheimer, I barely even saw the trailers. And I was genuinely shocked to see Barbie have such a strong and direct messaging about gender ideology. Once I got to the scene when the mother starts a full like 3 minute uninterrupted rant about the patriarchy I was like wtf am I watching. I literally felt like I was watching a feminist social media post. I really wasn't expecting that, I thought this was gonna be a chill, fun and satisfying movie to watch.. I don't understand why it had to be about gender ideology and men-villainizing

It astounds me how the marketing for this movie was so great, it had many men actually curious to see this movie, and was actually close to uniting men and women over BARBIE of all things! And yet, the actual movie is as toxic and hateful as it gets. I thought Zazlov wanted to save Warner Bros? How did he let such a bigoted, misandrist movie get released? Surely he can see how much potential money is now going to be lost, right?

With Hollywood on strike, this and the upcoming Marvels are actively encouraging everyone to make sure they never return, including myself. Let AI replace ALL OF THEM! Let Hollywood die anyway. In a year of Bud Light nuking itself, this was the final insult to audiences.

In hindsight, I'm not surprised. We forgot how many feminists have hated Barbie over the years for a lot of reasons from beauty standards to patriarchal roles at the forefront. The idea they'd take the chance to piss on it doesn't surprise me.

Everyone and everything corporate are pushing it hard insisting it’s just a coin flip over Oppenheimer.
I knew something was up when seeing such alinement.

I so wanted this to be good. I played with Barbie as a little girl and even had a Ken doll. They went on dates together and had multiple weddings. I don't want to see their "divorce" movie. How sickening.

Was planning to take my 9-year old daughter to this movie. I waited to hear reviews and I guess we are going to find something else to do this weekend. I will not take my daughter to see this movie.

This is super disappointing. I just wanted a traditional love story of ken and Barbie and they had to carpe diem all over it. Being in love is a beautiful thing and apparently you can’t even have that now

When Amy Schumer said she "wasn't fired but quit cause the movie wasn't Woke enough" was such a lie, she got fired cause they saw how awful she looked in the outfits, while the script was ALWAYS Woke AF! The lies these people in LA tell the public while acting like inspirational celebrities is such a hack.
