~~~~~ CHAPSHORO ~~~~~
When last time I visited Hunza, we tried their traditional recipes, one of them was Chap Shoro (also popularly known as Hunza pie). "Chap" means "meat", so meat can be of your choice.
It’s a simple cooked minced meat stuffed and sealed between two whole wheat flatbreads, and then cooked over a skillet.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 45 minutes
Serving: 4-5
Recipe inspired by: Gilgit baldistan
Ingredients:
1 kg Beef or mutton mince
3 tbsp Oil
1 cup Onion
1 cup Tomatoes
2-3 Green Chilies
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1 tsp Red Chilies Flakes
Salt to taste
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp Red chili powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
2 cups Wheat flour
Water as required
2 tbsp Green Coriander
Method :
Take a bowl add wheat flour, a pinch of salt and knead a soft dough by adding water gradually. Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
Take a pan add oil, onion, ginger garlic paste and sauté for q minute.
Then add mince cook for 10-12 minutes.
Then add red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt, red chili flakes and cook it well for 5-8 minutes. Now add Tomato, green chili and lemon juice.
Cook again for 4-5 minutes.
Add tomato and green coriander in last and cook.
Now divide the dough to equal parts, roll out and make round shape.
Then stuff mince in it and cook each side for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
Serve hot.
