What a list! Stoked that she put Jimi on the list! I consider myself a 70's metal, hard rock guy. Sabbath, Priest, Frank Marino etc. That said, my all time favorite song is Voodoo Child. A masterpiece 🎸

We both were drawn to Jimi Hendrix by Purple Haze. Thats the song that got me into rock music way back in the day.

Here are my top 5 favorite guitarists and why, and a track from them that stands out for me.
1) Eric Clapton.
I like him because of his understanding
of the blues, and the way he honours it.
He has dabbled in other styles of
music, but still returns to the blues.
A standout track for me is Freight
Loader, that he did with Jimmy Page.
There, you can see that Eric Clapton
was destined to end up as a solo
artist.

2) Jeff Beck.
I admire him because of the emotional
quality he gives, from just playing a
single note on his guitar. A standout
track from him for me would be Heart
Full Of Soul, from The Yardbirds. Jeff
Beck makes a cool sitar effect on that
song.

3) Jimmy Page.
I admire him, because he adds an
extra depth of texture to what he
does. A brilliant session musician,
before he joined The Yardbirds, and
pre Led Zeppelin and The Firm. A
standout track for me is I'm Gonna
Crawl from Led Zeppelin. The solo
is phenomenal.

4) Jimi Hendrix.
I admire him because he has taken
blues music in a new and exciting
direction, and incorporated other
elements, like jazz into his music.
A standout track for me is The Wind
Cries Mary. So atmospheric and so
ethereal.

5) Chuck Berry.
I admire him because he has different
musical sensibilities mixed into the music he made. There is country, blues,
and even jazz. A pioneer of rock & roll.
A standout track for me is Maybelline.
It is a good blend of country music and
blues music.

Thanks for sharing this awesome video. Cheers! ✌️🎸
