Sounds like you enjoyed a monopoly & no competition a little too much.

The minute Rick started calling followers, fans, and thinking he was a superstar, he went down in my estimation.

I see the rise in creators as the best thing to happen to golf! Growing up, I thought golf was boring, but now at 40, I’m hooked. Creators are inspiring so many to pick up a club and discover how fun and rewarding this game really is. Golf is hard, but should be fun, and there’s room for everyone to share their passion. Thanks for leading the way! ⛳

Watching Rick Shiels for more than 5 minutes, makes me glad there are so many creators.

I really enjoy the collaborations of different creators over the last few week. The Bryan Bros cut series is fantastic along with the $5000 skins game. Everything Rick and Pete filmed at Solina was gold!!!

Reality is…if people are watching the others will be attracted to it. And the best will rise to the worst will disappear. That’s how any market works and YouTube golf is nothing different

Rick & Pete hit it good enough to watch the golf & the personality is super entertaining.
Bryan Bros are both top notch talent + personality.
Grant is elite human and super steady golfer.
Bryson hits shots only he can hit and his douche factor has come down so much.
Bob struggles hilariously and is a hoot.
The cream will always rise to the top even if the market gets saturated and the best channels are still the OGs.

Sounds like someone is afraid of competition

The danger is actual professionals, like Bryson, becoming youtubers and bringing a whole new level to the youtube game. I think many of them will, including former players.

This is the free market. You have a lot of choices the best ones float to the surface and that’s what gets consumed. The shitty ones will fall away. It’s like that in business.

Personally, I don't need the shock factor. I watch Pete and Rick because you are sound and some of the longer form content is class. I'd take the simple challenge a pro, break 75 or exploring new courses every week over all the click bait.

There maybe that many channels out there but Pete and Rick watched for last few years and got me back into golf after 20 years and my dad playing again at 73 and my 3 boys watching all you do !! Keep going love all your content thank you so much 😀😀🏌️🏌️🏌️

Pete literally just described my experience everytime I put on Netflix 😂

YouTube golf being over saturated will only affect new channels. People know Rick, Pete etc and will continue to watch their stuff regardless

I agree regardjng the fact its quite difficult to keep up with all the content but very suprised the biggest change for me wasnt discussed.... golf audiences now want to watch quality golf over entertaining golf. Goodgood is a prime example of this as there views have been declining and Grant Horvat on his own gains as much if not more views than them as people are interested in very high level golf but want personality to to with it.

I hate to tell you Rick but thats how markets work

You guys!! just keep putting out top tier content like the collab with Bryan Bros “Birdie every hole” episode and you’ll be fine. Solo vids aren’t going to cut it all the time. Keep taking us (the watcher) on a journey and we’ll keep watching.

IMO, there is no such specific thing as YouTube golf; there are influencers trying to make money by enjoying their hobby/passion; there are hot girls trying to maximize their looks for money from guys who love golf; there are young people trying to be popular and make money with no real golf skills; there are guys doing instruction and reviews which are largely uninformative and boring. . . it’s all over the board.

As a golfer with a single digit handicap, yes I have a passion for golf and I watch just a couple influencers because they play beautiful courses, play at least at a respectable level AND have an enjoyable personality without simply being stupid. But if I want to watch golf for the purity of golf, I watch the pros. Let’s be honest, there’s only so little entertainment than can be provided from having a golf influencer play 3-9 holes and just tell us the yardage and club hit. It gets really boring quick, especially watching guys and girls who can’t break 80 if they played 18 holes.

The market will dictate the success and yes, it can become over saturated IMO but that’s just the way social media works because it’s not premised on the actual real golf professional; it’s just entertainment. Personally, I couldn’t care less about 99% of “content creators” or “YouTubers” because is just a waste of time honestly. The best of YouTube is watching people explain how to fix something but for the entertainment factor; 99% of what I watch I turn off before it’s done or I watch it a feel like it’s 20 minutes of my life I wish I could get back. Whether it’s car reviews, golf, politics, etc. it’s all largely the same thing over and over by people begging to be popular for money

I enjoy watching Pete in his mini tour events…that’s unique and very intimate since Pete takes us along for all the highs and the lows and anyone that plays competitively can relate!
