Just don't call it beer and you are fine, since when it not according to Reinheitsgebot it's not a beer

first: it's not a law, just a regulation.
second: it doesn't apply in the whole country but only in Bavaria

“What’s this? If it’s beer there’s a fine.”
“I’m calling it honey’ed horse piss.”
“Ah excellent carry on.”

Almost every video I've seen about Germany has them bragging about how much garbage bureaucracy they have, like wow we're so cool we have a age old law that isn't fit for a modern setting

This law has never been in effect in modern German history, many breweries choose to oblige it for publicity reason but it's not an official law.

Bureaucracy due to beer

That is the most German thing I’ve ever heard

you do know that this law is no longer in use because in Germany, we have something called " Gesetzeshierarchie ". so basically we have laws that are of more value than others
(for example in some city laws you would be punished with death if you kill someone but the state law prohibited the execution of the city law)
so the law that is to take notice is called Inhaltsbestimmungspflicht, basically you have to tell all ingredients or give the opportunity for the customer to easily reach Tham.

the point given if you put something like honey in it it's not allowed to be called beer because of another old law the Reinheitsgebot

pronunciation: [ˈʁaɪnhaɪtsɡəboːt] (listen), literally "purity order") is a series of regulations limiting the ingredients in beer in Germany and the states of the former Holy Roman Empire. The best known version of the law was adopted in Bavaria in 1516 (by William IV), but similar regulations predate the Bavarian order, and modern regulations also significantly differ from the 1516 Bavarian version. Although today, the Reinheitsgebot is mentioned in various texts about the history of beer, historically it was only applied in the duchy of Bavaria and from 1906 in Germany as a whole, and it had little or no effect in other countries or regions.

And it doesnt work against any beer important out of germany but from eu. Germans cant call it beer of its against purity law but any country in eu can come and sell their beer as beer even if its against purity law. Negative discrimination

Bruh it isn't even a law anymore, brewers literally just follow it out of tradition.

Got to say, those Bavarians love their purity laws.

Germany didn’t exist then lmfao. How are you going to enforce a law of a country that doesn’t exist anymore (Bavaria)
