60's Style Phaser with a Laser in it

I absolutely will not tell anyone how to build this themselves, or where to get the parts. If you’re dumb enough to do this—you’re on your own. I will say that the instructions that I found on the internet we’re incomplete & will probably fry the laser. I designed & 3D printed the battery compartment & the bits I used to build the safety switch.

The shell is based on a toy sold in the 90’s & early 2000’s. After I hacked it apart, I used Bondo to smooth everything out & provide a good base for paint. The metal parts are reproductions based on an actual surviving prop from the 60’s & are available on eBay.

If I’m honest, I kinda regret using such a powerful laser. It looks cool, but it’s stupidly dangerous. It can permanently blind someone in an instant. I wired in a safety switch and store it without any batteries…

But still, it’s a laser gun that shoots a laser beam.

I just bought an old metal parts kit to add to my diamond select phaser what type of laser and driver did you use for this? Now I just want to add a powerful laser of some kind
