Love this tutorial so much, such a great idea. I love making cushions and now I always line them, (after watching another of your videos last year)...Yes it takes a bit more fabric but the end result is so worth it, I wouldn't dream of making cushions any other way..Take care and I look forward to your next video.

I like the project and your layout. I think I would put some space in the center and embroider the phrase we are family. Then put names directly on the hands and paw or above the two large hands and below the other two.

Can you sew the hands on without the appliqué backing and using the all purpose foot instead of free motion foot?

I wanted to make a cushion cover with some really bright cotton applique shapes but wondered if I could use unbleached Calico for the cover itself? If not, what fabric would you suggest for the cover itself. Thanks.
