Thank you for a good tutorial. I jumped on the dmr bandwagon as result of watching and enjoying your vedios. Retired now and getting back to amature radio you have helped immensely. Now have the rt84 and my dmr ID waiting on my hotspot and program cable. Thanks again for activating my curiosity back to amature radio.

Where in the video is the baseband update? I see the install of the FW (PTT + PF3) and I see the reset of the radio (PTT + PF1) which is not the same as the baseband update. I never see the baseband update per the instructions that came with the FW1.14 download under directory "Base Band IC 3258 update" which instructs user to "Hold pressing # key and orange/blue top key, at the same time power on the radio, screen display". It prerequires installation of "SetupSCT_PORT.msi" which is the problem I am having (asking for .net framework over and over...)

You can add a BlueTooth card or a memory upgrade to the 878UV. 878UV+ is the exact same radio + a BlueTooth card. You can have either BlueTooth or the upgraded memory but not both. There is a youtube video somewhere that walks you through the BlueTooth card installation if you want to upgrade.

That Anytone 878 plus is getting tons of advertisement and promotions. Another lower cost DMR HT to consider is the TYT MD380 with $30 off till 9/20/2019 at BridgeCom. Good procedure with the firmware update Jason. Mike N6IMY

I wonder if the B-Tech firmware update would load on the Anytone? They are nearly identical and it would be a cool experiment to see if it would work. It might mess up the radio, but it should be OK after a reload...

I have an 878 plus with 1.16 firmware. I have tried several times to update the firmware to 1.17 and it will not take. Still says 1.16. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

Jason what's the repeater ID for statewide that you use
I'm listening to what I have for Texas statewide but it's required must be on another system?

I couldn't get the baseband update to work... maybe I was pressing PF2... but it seemed to work just fine without the baseband update. Not sure why that step is required.

In other news, I use git to control the revisions of my codeplug. Then I push it up to github and have a cloud backup.
