Great little review. The footage looks very crisp and detailed. I love the colour gradation and dynamic range too. Pretty good since you took it straight out of the box! I have a Sony GZ1M microphone that I use on my Sony HX400V bridge camera (which is very good too)-I assume I could put this mic straight onto the multi interface hotshoe as per the HX400V?

cos that's the only other camera i was considering.
for the 3 built in ND filters and 1 inch sensor.
drawback being it's bulkier and no BOSS>

You should have shot a more dynamic scene so we can watch for motion blur. Also, show us how well it works in low light.

I like this review and so indicated with my vote. But all these reviews only show video shot in direct sunlight, where any camcorder is at its best, and it's hard to differentiate among them. I would like to see what happens with various indoor lighting conditions.

Hey i have a question, i see some reviews on Amazon and a review on YouTube that say this camcorder only good for handheld recording. Why it can not record on a tripod without the video shaking even if SteadyShot is off? Have you try to record videos while it's on a tripod before? Sony told me if the SteadyShot or stabilize are off it can record videos on a tripod just like any other camera. Other people say otherwise from what i see

This camera seem so nice, like a no brainer somehow, so many nice features and Sony really delivers. I just dislike they threw away the projector function on this one. The previous AXP33 had that function and it was a cool thing. Are you satisfied with the camera, pros and cons when you tried it a bit now?

Those images you shot was just making me drool a bit, so far cameras have come these days and the prices are not that crazy anymore either. It's just amazing times we live in, having this quality in our hands, I remember back in the 80-90's, casettes, big ass batteries that lasted like 30 minutes and you had 4 of them.

I think I will buy this camera actually, btw have you tried out any of the color changes to make the image not so artificial and maybe a bit more like in a cinema?

Overall I am convinced the more I watch clips and read about it, it just feels like the best choice, I was looking at the Canon HF g40 also because Canon do have amazing image quality but I do think this can achieve that also. The thing with the Canon is it's lack of 4k and that seem a bit stupid to buy a camera without that in these times when we are moving towards that standard probably.

I still wonder if you really need 100 MBit/s. My experience with camcorders is that they just shove everything onto the storage. Later, when rendering, it takes 5 hours to render a FHD clip with a modern hardware that can consume as much power and create as much heat as it wants (read as: The PC). Something a camcorder can't.

When I take a VBR WMV codec I can easily cut down the size by 30% without notable changes in quality. I wonder how many MBit/s are *actually* necessary to receive close-to lossless footage after rendering with a video editor with a clever encoder?. 80 MBit/s?

I just bought this camcorder, but I'm getting a digital blur whenever I walk while recording, or panning from left to right, even with all auto settings. am I doing something wrong? my SD is a Lexar 1000x class 10 UH 3. HELP!

I am looking at this camera to video our church service which lasts almost 3 hours and I must video the entire time without stopping. I do have a shoulder stabilizer but I would like to put this camera on a tripod. I would like to see how the video comes out recording on a tripod and I would like to know what is the maximum time this camera allows you to video. I appreciate the answers. Our church has a very small budget so most likely I will be saving the money myself to buy a camera.
