Memory Called Empire is brilliant! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. The second book was even better, with a fascinating exploration of the nature of communication that goes beyond language.

I just bought 7 books by Haruki Murakami. I am a frequent buyer of books whether I have room for them or not. I just finished re-reading Dune. I first read it back in 1976! I loved it all over again.

I loved the first hitchhiker guide, laughing a lot but then it gets gradually boring as it doesn't feel new anymore so I stopped after the third I think. Nice book haul, some of those covers are so beautiful!

I’m loving all of the sci-fi in this haul! 🚀 I have a couple of these books that have yet to be read - Memory Called Empire and The Last Watch so I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts about those two!

Great pile of books there! Looking forward to watching the individual reviews. And yes, I do have a book buying problem. A blessing and a curse.

I’m a new ish subscriber, love your content man! I actually just picked up Going Postal from my shelf today, sat down and welp there went the day. Read it all but about thirty pages… Great Pacing, and Discworld is great between more emotionally devastating reads lol.

I really enjoyed this – so many books I'll have to check out. I love The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy – makes life seem insignificant, but in a good way haha 😃

Great book haul! I just started reading through the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and am loving it! I also just bought some discworld and am thinking with starting with small gods. PHM is a great book too, probably one of my favorite reads of the year

I really don’t get why Colour of Magic gets so much hate, I’ve read 7 Discworld books so far and CoM is currently my favourite. Those 7 I’ve read include Mort and Guards! Guards!

I need to get back into Discworld but I hate the mass market covers soooo much and am too cheap to buy the pretty hard covers haha

I wasn't a fan of The Colour of magic tbh I ended up Dnfing it to read another time. I read The Vagrant a while ago and it was an okay read. A memory called empire is on my shelf to read soon as well as I've heard really good things about the series. I'm hoping to read Project Hail Mary soon as well.

Nice haul! Just so sad that you have to by the Discworld books with those US covers!! The UK covers should be the only ones allowed!
I don't consider CoM + LF as less good than the rest of the DW books, just as different. From what little I got hearing Pratchett talk about getting the publication contract, I got the feeling he wasn't really expecting to get one, much less for more books. Those first 2 (which are a duology) are mostly the author having fun with the fantasy genre, as it was at the time. They're an entertaining introduction to the world, to Rincewind and the Discworld's only tourist, Twoflower (who makes another appearance in a much later book). And to the Luggage. I love the Luggage! If you read them expecting a story that pokes fun at fantasy books (in a friendly way), and not much more, then you should be OK.
