How to paint laminate for a long lasting finish

YES! You can paint laminate!

It is all about the prep, but it's actually quite simple.

1. Heavily scuff the surface. I usually do an 80 grit making sure to cover every inch.
This is my FAVORITE sandpaper.

2. Apply a bonding primer. I use Lilly Moon's bonding primer. It’s like liquid glue.

3. Apply a traditional primer. I use Insl-X STIX primer, it's another bonding primer, but I use it on all of my painted pieces. Adhesion is key!

4. After the primer dries, sand with a high grit sandpaper, at least 300. This will create the perfect surface for paint and create that professionally smooth finish we all shoot for!

Did you do 2 coats of bonding primer? I thought you used 2 different kinds. If so, why?
