Tokyo Mirage Sessions #Fe Switch Version Is Still Censored - A Missed Opportunity

I know there is a screenshot circulating of an uncensored version of a character, but that originates from the Nintendo of Japan website. So if the game is uncensored, why did Sega decide to use Western WiiU footage for the trailer? If Sega decides to revert as much censorship as they possibly can from the original version, I would be VERY ecstatic and would love to make a video praising them for their decision but for right now we just don't know and from initial gameplay footage it looks like it is just a port of the Western WiiU Version.

They censored a hell of a lot more like the fact that before Maiko started Fortuna she was a gravure model and all of her modeling outfits were changed even in her photoshoot at the beach she was fully clothed :/ In chapter 2 when she is captured the entire idolasphere (dungeon) was changed from bikini pics to fully clothed women. They even changed thr appearances of some of the more humanoid mirages (monsters). We also never got the hot springs dlc which not only had costumes, but a good number of cutscenes as well.

All that being said the biggest change is that they had the Japanese cast come back to rerecord 340 lines of script to make the majority of the cast a year older and remove any mention of gravure modeling from the game.

There is a modded version from the original translated, uncensored, if you have a modded Wii U, can download and play.

A lot of people are mistaking Nintendo's policy. They said they won't censor third party games like Sony does. They never mentioned first party published games. Them censoring Tokyo Mirage and not Omega Labyrinth is consistent and doesn't indicate a shift in values. Sucks, still not buying buying the game. Oh well, not like there's a shortage of jrpgs on Switch.

Actually, on the Nintendo of America Website shows screenshots where the girls are wearing the deleted outfits. There is a chance it isn't entirely censored.

Vara, we don't have any confirmation yet on if it's censored or not. The official site shows uncensored pictures while the video shows censored footage. For all we know, they simply reused Wii U footage in the reveal trailer. It's way too early to be saying it definitive one way or another.

If the game ends up being uncensored, some people won't buy it because of people jumping the gun to insist its censored without firm proof.

I think that the Miyko dungeon needs to be uncensored since Tusbasa's character arc makes no sense since she has already modeled for her Album cover so why would she suddenly be afraid to?.

I would purchase this game in a heartbeat if it was uncensored. As things can change I will wait and see what happens

Still censored? Not going to bother buying it. They're trying to get people who doesn't know or care about the censorship and unfortunately for them I'm not one of them.

i really wanted to play this game when it first came out but it was censored and didnt buy it and now as i saw it was coming out on switch i was hoping it would be uncensored but nope so again wont be buying

Jumping the gun I guess? According to another YouTuber Jay RPG. It seems that the game is still semi-censored, or it censored... But not what you think. Because on the website sure it shows a Screenshot where Tsubasa's original idol outfit.

It's still possible that Nintendo just had the trailer footage in the Direct censored since Directs are meant for general audiences. To some, that sounds ridiculous, but it's not the first time. Look back to Nintendo's E3 Direct and watch the No More Heroes 3 trailer. The trailer cuts out the foul language and the blood, however, there is an extended, uncut version of the trailer that keeps the vulgarity and blood intact. With that in mind, it's certainly possible that the game may not actually be censored and it was just something done for the trailer.

Also, the website shows that the Japanese version of the game has English support, so if the game isn't redubbed in some fashion, then we may see a uniform version of the game in both countries where the censorship is gone or there are very minor tweaks (such as age for the West). Worst case scenario if the game is censored, well, the Switch is not region locked, so people can just spring for the Japanese version which has English support anyway.

Even Tokyo Mirage is getting ported now but Koei Tecmo still has yet to cough up Maiden of Black Water. Dafuq?

The Japanese and US Nintendo Direct trailers use the exact same footage. We will have to wait for another trailer to find out.

I don't mind the ports some days I don't feel like digging up my old stuff even if I'm in a deadspace/neptunia mood.

I skipped the wii u era so on the ropes about this. You feel it in the back of your mind something is missing.

To hard to tell from one trailer. Honestly from what I hear in that trailer it showed some of the stuff that was censored but things that was previously censored wasn't showed up in the trailer as well. Honestly I'll wait and see. Nintendo could just be lazy enough to just show whatever gameplay for the trailer and not have any gameplay for the remaster.

If I were Sony’s CEO, I’d want Atlus to re-release TMS FE on the PS5 fully uncensored.
