Hi Mindy! Glad to hear all is well with baby girl! 🥰. I am a physical therapist and just wanted to let you know that you are absolutely correct, swelling with pregnancy can lead to carpal tunnel symptoms! It actually results from swelling in your wrist which compresses on the nerves that travel through a small “tunnel” and supply your hands & fingers. I know not ideal but totally normal! 😊

If you can get into your swimming pool, it helps discomforts, but, the weather in Florida has been bouncing around temps. Not that warm to swim, (well for us Florida people anyway)

My daughter had carpal tunnel with her two pregnancies, but she also had high blood pressure issues with it. Praying for things to go well with you both!

I’m so relieved for you that your baby-girl is doing fine!!! I can remember the worry during pregnancy and I’m still worrying now that my daughter is 38!!! 😄. Won’t be long now I think!! It’s always better to have any concern checked immediately.

Mindy, I had pregnancy induced carpal tunnel, it was extremely painful! Mine mostly happened at night, during the day my hands were painful but not terrible! I bought some gloves off of amazon for carpal tunnel and they were a true lifesaver!! But since you’re so close to the end you might just want to stick it out! Mine started toward the end of my second trimester. I had never heard of anyone else complaining about this before, at first I didn’t even think it was a pregnancy symptom but it definitely is!!! Wishing you and baby girl well!!

Mindy, I also struggle with acid reflux, and one thing I use that's really effective is baking soda; You've just got to mix a tiny bit of it with water and drink and you feel the relief right away. Just check with your doctor if it's ok for you to take it since you're pregnant. Keeping you all in my prayers and can't wait for baby girl to come 🥰🎉 I also hope Liam feels better soon from this allergy 🙏

Labor and Delivery nurse here....Your swab is called GBS : Group Beta Strep. It's usually drawn at 36 weeks on all patients and if positive you are correct, you will be given antibiotics during labor until you deliver. It's usually Penecillin unless you have an allergy then it's another chosen abx. PCN burns in the IV so if you are positive results and ordered it make sure the nurse dilutes it with some normal IV fluids like Lactated Ringers. It helps so much with the burning. An ice bag to the IV site helps too but sometimes not all nurses think to offer this because either they don't think it works or they are not convinced it helps the patient. Have a wonderful delivery. Doesnt matter how many hours the labor takes in fact, don't count them.
Goal is ALWAYS: Healthy Baby Healthy mom no matter if it's a vaginal delivery or an unplanned Cesarean Section. Love to all of you from Ohio, ❤ 1hour South of where Larry was a police officer.

I hope little miss starts moving soon! At midnight last night, I headed to L&D for decreased fetal movement too.... 36 weeks! Babe looked great, which makes me feel better.
